ANDREAS VAIS

I'll see you in my dreams, 2015,

During his PLAN B. artist residence Andreas plans to explore the extraoridinary nature that surrounds PLAN B. absorbing sights and recording sounds that will be transformed into drawings, sound pieces and videos.

Inspiration for Andreas Vais' work comes from his love for nature, music and dance, rhythm, free improvisation and the art of different cultures. His working method may include taking long walks, observing plant and animal life, recording sounds, taking photos and videos and listening to music.

In his visual work every element that is used, either representational or abstract, is part of a universe which emerges by conjuring images from the subconscious through spontaneous hand movements - ideally in a state of deep concentration -
as well as the repetition or modulation of patterns. Experimentation and the joy of discovery are of prime importance.

Born (1965) in Athens, where he lives and works. Studied English literature at the University of Athens. He has been exhibiting since 1991. He also experiments with music creating sound pieces which converse with his painting and drawing.
